Solomon Youths off to Taiwan for Leadership Study Camp
The Republic of China on Taiwan Embassy in Honiara announces that Taiwan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has organised the study camp from 7 to 16 this month in Taipei.
The seven young people received the air tickets from the Taiwanese Ambassador George Chan yesterday.
The seven youths are from the Government, media and St. Joseph Tenaru School, on Guadalcanal.
The Embassy says the study camp is to cultivate future leaders and make citizens of Solomon Islands understand more about Taiwan.
It says the camp aims to promote the Taiwan’s devotion in the areas of biotechnology, green energy sources, tourism, and cultural developments and others things.
The Embassy says in addition, the attendees will also study the current cross-strait relations between Taiwan and China.
Besides Solomon Islands, the participants from the other five allies of Taiwan in the Pacific nations from Kiribati, Nauru, Marshall Islands, and Palau are also invited to attend the camp.
