South Seas Evangelical Church to discipline promoters of Malaita Kingdom

The South Seas Evangelical Church, SSEC, in Solomon Islands is prepared to take disciplinary action on some church members who advocate the belief that a Kingdom will be established on Malaita.

There is a religious group which include SSE-Church members who believe Malaita will have a King who will lead the island to independence from Solomon Islands.

SSEC Reverend Bishop Festus Suruma told SIBC the belief became stronger when government chose Malaita to host this years' Independence anniversary celebrations.

He said expectation was high amongst followers of the group that the Queen of England was going to visit Malaita to hand-over riches and treasures to them and to install their new King on 7th July.

Reverend Bishop Suruma said this prophesy was not fulfilled.

He said the Church has given directive to its authorities on Malaita to identify leaders of the group.

He said normal disciplinary measures will be imposed on Church members found to be involved in misleading others.
