Malu'u Trade Show currently on to commemorate Malaita's Second Appointed Day
During the opening ceremony on Saturday, the Minister for Culture and Tourism Bently Rogasomani expressed that the government is mindful of its obligation to engage rural communities in all facets of rural development.
Mr Rogasomani said his ministry is a productive sector thus he is pleased to see many activities, trade and culture or meetings held in the provinces.
He added this is a clear manifestation of government's Bottom Up Approach Development Policy.
Mr Ragosomani said up to ninety percent of resources and eighty percent of the population live in the rural areas.
He says most of the lands are owned by clans or communities. Mr Ragosomani says that it is on this pretext the government has committed itself to the creation of an environment which would allow for growth of the rural sector.
Malaita Provincial premier, Hon Richard Na'amo Irosaea and some of his executive members were among the hundreds of people who witnessed the opening on Saturday.
