Solomons Minister of Public Service and strong advocator of good governance has passed away in Honiara this morning

The Solomon Islands Minister of Public Service and Member of Parliament for East Malaita, Hon Joses Wawari Sanga (circled) who is well respected as a strong advocator of good governance has died at the National Referral Hospital in Honiara this morning.

News that just reached the TARD desk from Honiara revealed the unfortunate loss of an exceptional leader of Solomon Islands. The death was also confirmed by the Prime Minister's Office.

It is understood that this loss will leave a huge gap in the Sogavare-led Great Coalition government as the late Hon Sanga was one of the most senior and active right-hand members of Sogavare's team of politicians.

It is uncertain as to what caused the death of one of Solomons well respected and out-spoken leader in the calibre of late Hon Joses Wawari Sanga, but he has been sick for sometime. We can only pray that May the Almighty God grant mercy on his soul and let him rest in peace.

Meanwhile, a former Under-Secretary of the Public Service Department, Mr Gregory Rofeta who has served under the guidance of late Hon Sanga, expressed his shock and sadness at the unfortunate loss of their Minister. Mr Rofeta is currently pursuing Masters studies at the Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand.
