Provincial election officials replaced ahead of Malaita polls on January 15
The Solomon Islands Minister for Provincial Government, Hon Japhet Waipora is understood to have replaced two officials involved in the elections of the first five wards in Malaita Province ahead of wards 6 to 30 polls on January 15.
MyBlog has reported that Returning Officer Harold Leka has been replaced by Houma while the eelection Coordinator within the Ministry Sam Faluaburu is replaced by Jacob Nuia.
Hon Waipora says preparation for the January 15 election for wards 6 to 30 in Malaita Province is progressing well and he hope nothing will affect the election date. Election for wards 6 to 30 did not eventuate on December 18 2006 because of difficulties in distributing ballot boxes and other necessities to hold the election.
