New Year celebrations in Solomon Islands the most peaceful
Reports from most provincial police stations yesterday afternoon, said their communities behaved well during celebrations.
Commanding Police officers who spoke to the Solomon Islands Broadcasting Corporation by phone yesterday said this year's New Year celebrations was the best compared to past years.
Police officials say most people went to midnight service and afterwards celebrated peacefully in their respective homes and communities.
The officials say since people behaved orderly during their new year's celebrations, it made the work of police officers on duty much more easier and lighter. They appeal to the communities to continue to behave well as law abiding citizens in 2007.
