Solomon Student Association at USP Laucala to elect new executive today

Solomon Islands Student Association (SISA) at USP Laucala Campus will elect a new executive today, after the elections opened this morning and will close in the afternoon.

Reports from Suva stated that there are 16 candidates who will be running for the four posts of President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary.

Four Candidates will be contesting for the president's post, five for the vice president's post, five for treasurer's post whilst two for the secretary's post.

The intending candidates were given a chance to introduce themselves to the student body during an arranged campaign night on Wednesday this week.

Those who are contesting the presidency include Peter Fairamoa, Robert Manakaea, Jerome Asipara and Kadesh Hikohaikeni. Candidates for the vice president's role are Alex Buani, Steven Otto, Trevor Manemahaga, Lenny Konamauri and Simon Mau.

Secretary's Post candidates are Koldrin Kolai and Pamela Naesol. Student candidates for the treasurer's role include John Oiuru, Seth Tamua, John Rohi, Rexon Ramofafia and Johnson Sokeni.

There are about 700 Solomon students at USP Laucala Campus. Solomon Islands is the second highest in terms of enrolled student as Laucala Campus behind Fiji.
