ANZ Bank goes rural to North Malaita after signing of MOU with Malu'u Distance Learning Centre

A Memorandum of agreement to establish a local link between ANZ and the people of Malu'u (North Malaita) was signed in Honiara yesterday morning.

The agreement was signed between ANZ, Ministry of Education and the Rural Development Volunteers Association, R-D-V-A.

Head of ANZ's Rural Banking Services, Sebastian Ilala describes the agreement as a historic signing that will expand ANZ's financial services via Distance Learning Centres.

Mr Ilala says this morning's signing is the first between a commercial bank and a Distance Learning Centre, D-L-C.

ANZ will be operating through the Arnon Atomea Distance Learning Centre in Malu'u.

In a statement about the signing, ANZ says the MOU is a landmark agreement that will bring financial services to the people of Malu'u and surrounding areas.

Financial services that will be provided by ANZ via the D-L-C include EFTPOS, Internet banking, telegraphic transfers and other basic banking services.
