PM Sogavare congratulates victorious Chief Somare

Solomon Islands has congratulated the Rt. Hon. Sir Michael Somare of Papua New Guinea upon his re-lection as Prime Minister.

Solomon Islands Prime Minister, Manasseh Sogavare in a congratulatory message to Sir Michael expressed a heartfelt felicitation on behalf of the people and government of Solomon Islands over the PNG Grand Chief’s retention of the prime minister’s post.

Mr Sogavare attributed Sir Michael’s re-election victory to the outstanding contributions he has made to the development of his nation and expressed optimism for further enrichment of the relationship between PNG and Solomon Islands under their leadership.

“Your assumption of the high office manifests the recognition of your outstanding contributions to your country in the past and it is my sincere hope that with your able leadership, the existing cooperative relationship and warm friendship between our two countries will further prosper in the best interests of our two peoples.

“Please accept my best wishes for your personal well-being and prosperity of your great nation,” Prime Minister Sogavare said.

Mr Sogavare sent his congratulatory message to Sir Michael through the Solomon Islands High Commission in Port Moresby.
