Malaita Provincial Premier receives new vehicle

Newly elected premier of the Malaita Provincial Assembly, Richard Irosaea Na’amo, yesterday received a new vehicle from the Solomon Islands government.

Minister for Infrastructure Development, Hon. Stanley Sofu handed over the key to Premier Na’amo and said he was pleased that his government assisted the province with the vehicle.

In response Premier Na’amo said this was his government's first request to the Grand Coalition for Change Government.

“We have a lot of needs and I am glad that the national government donated this vehicle in response to our request. Malaita province needs a lot of support to its infrastructure and transport needs.

“Without support from the national government, government programmes in the rural areas may not be given proper attention,” Mr. Na’amo said.

The presentation of the vehicle was witnessed by other Malaitans living in Honiara and shared their joy with Premier Na’amo.

It is expected that Western Province premier will soon receive a vehicle from the national government.
