Malu'u Health show opened yesterday in North Malaita

A three day health show which is coordinated by a volunteer committee in North Malaita known as the Malu'u Health Counterpart(MHC) and supported by the To'abaita Authority for Research and Development(TARD) student volunteer group, has opened yesterday at Malu'u, North Malaita.

President of the To'abaita Council of Chiefs who is also the chairman of the Health Show organizing committee, Mr David Dauta, says sustainability is one of the key issues that will be highlighted during the show. He added that it is of uttermost importance for people in the country to address sustainability of projects that are set up within their rural communities.

It is understood that an "Institutional Sustainability" plan for different departments and organisations in North Malaita would be the first thing to launch during the show. The plan will look at how the community can participate in infrastructure and the welfare of nurses that work in health facilities in North Malaita.

Other anticipated plans that will be launched during the three-day Health Show will address capacity and organisation development of the health sector in the community. The Malu'u health show started yesterday and will finish tomorrow.
