SI Opposition leader met Solomon students at USP over the weekend

The Solomon Islands Opposition leader, Hon Fred Fono, has met with Solomon students at the University of the South Pacific in Suva over the weekend.

Mr Fono who is currently completing a 3 weeks attachment with the Pacific Institute of Advanced Studies in Develeopment and Governance (PIAS-DG) at the University of the South Pacific, used that meeting on Saturday to clarify the opposition's perspective of the current issues in Solomon Islands with an aim to give a balanced view of the situation, especially after the Prime Minister has outlined his stand to the student body more than two weeks ago.

Meanwhile, students at the Laucala Campus have begun their final examinations today which will continue over the next two weeks. The university is expected to close on November 17. Fiji School of Medicine (FSM) students have already completed their first week of examinations last week and this is their last week of exams. Most FSM students will be returning to Honiara on November 11 and 14 whilst those at USP will fly home on 18, 21, 25 and 28 November.
