Julian Moti enters Solomon Islands through Munda but held for questioning

Latest reports from Honiara this morning has established that the suspended Solomon Islands new Attorney Attorney General, Julian Moti, is now in Solomon Islands but being questioned by police in Munda.

Reports stated that Mr Moti arrived in Munda early this morning in a PNG owned aircraft, along with other Solomon Islanders, including Sogavare's nephew and political appointee Robson Djokovic.

SIBC news reported that Munda police is still searching for another Solomon Islander, who came on the flight this morning.

It is understood that Solomon Airlines agent in Munda and Aviation control tower workers in Honiara were not aware of arrangements for the flight to Munda this morning.

This recent move by the Solomon Islands government to spend taxpayers money to meet legal costs and transportation expense on the now suspended attorney general is expected to bring frustation to the ordinary people and civil institutions of Solomon Islands. It is still not clear what Australia will do after this recent move which is against court rulings in Papua New Guinea and immigration laws in Solomon Islands, but it would definitely strain the current impasse between Solomon Islands and Australia.
