Fono moves motion of no confidence in PM today

Solomon Islands Opposition leader Fred Fono has moved the motion of no confidence in Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare today.

Mr Fono moved the motion after the Speaker Sir Peter Kenilorea clarified that the tabling of the motion today is in order.

Prior to the motion being moved, Prime Minister Sogavare questioned whether the mover should have given another seven clear days from last Friday when the motion withdrawn from the order paper and deferred it to this week.

Mr Fono says he expects government members to use their common sense and support the motion.
