SI TARD Steering Committee appoints its executive officers to advance TARD goals
During the meeting on Saturday, an interim Solomon Islands TARD Executive was appointed to begin planning for potential activities to promote the vision and goals of the To'abaita Authority for Research and Development (TARD). The executive members are as follows with their respective responsibilities:
Rosemary Iilu Kafa - Chairperson
Jack Filiomea - Vice Chairperson
Walter Waneoroa - Secretary
Lily Ramo - Assistant Secretary
Ishmael Alulu - Treasurer
Other matters agreed upon include Ms Lily Ramo offering her volunteer service to review the TARD constitution and forward her feedbacks to the TARD Suva committee. In addition, the participants suggested that the TARD vision needs to be detailed as possible and clearly outline that TARD is an independent group and has no affliation with any politics and include a structure with the line of communication.
A question was also raised by those who have attended the meeting on the North Malaita Working Paper. The group suggested that another generalised version of the TARD working Paper with long term vision/objectives needs to be drafted and circulated to all North Malaita people. Others who have attended took the paper and are expected to give their comments and contributions.
The Solomon Islands TARD Steering Executive Committee are expected to meet with the North Malaita Constituency MP on Wednesday (06/09/06).
The third meeting was held on Sunday 27 August 2006 at the RWSS Conference room and the meeting was chaired by Mr Jack Filiomea. The opening prayer was said by Mr Seseli whils the closing prayer was done by Mr Martin Rara.
FINALLY, ON BEHALF OF THE TARD EXECUTIVE AND MEMBERS IN SUVA WE WOULD LIKE TO CONGRATULATE THE SI TARD STEERING EXECUTIVES ON YOUR CURRENT APPOINTMENT AND THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTINUOUS BELIEF AND SUPPORT TOWARDS THE TARD INITIATIVE.
