Malaita names soccer squad for Solomon Games
Malaita Football Association yesterday came up with a 22 men squad to represent the province in this month’s Solomon Games in Makira Ulawa Province.The Solomon Games will be staged in Kirakira and Waimapuru from 24th June to 7 July 2006.
The squad is boosted with nine Honiara-based players while the rest are provincial-based players. Most of the players have represented Malaita at the last Solomon Cup held in Honiara.
The full team are goalkeepers - Hudson Iro and Kenneth. Defenders: Richard Anisua, Alick Nete, Rex Isu, John Maesa, Francis Saemala, Terry Oiaka, Martin Ruhasia. Midfielders: Jonathan Koburu, Steve Anisi, Hudson Kusilifu, James Naka, Trevor Suinao, Timothy Joe.
Strikers: Jimmy Fulaga, Eddie Lofi, Abraham Iniga, Jack Samani and Tinoni Ratu. The team will be coached by Derrick Taka while Jason Siru is the team manager.
